Christmas with the Nickels

Its been a great Christmas with the Nickels family...
Jeremy made it home on the 23rd and so very glad to have him home with us and he will be able to stay home until Jan. 3rd...
It was great to be able to attend Christmas Eve service together and I always want our children to know that Christmas is always about Jesus....
We then headed to grandparents house to have some yummy finger food and be able to visit with family...
Jeremy's aunt, uncle and cousin came into town from Independence Mo and it was great to be able to visit with them and get caught up again...
Also watched "Christmas Vacation" one of my favorite movies to watch and I can pretty much say the whole movie word for word... Wow probably means I have seen it way too many times....

When we got home it was passed midnight so two little boys had to head on to bed... Jeremy spent some time getting the brisket ready for Christmas afternoon lunch..
I stayed up to watch Christmas Story, wrap presents and get the house clean for everyone to come over later that afternoon...
I finally made it to bed at 6am and Jeremy was just getting out of bed at 6am.. Wow both of us were running on not much sleep at all....
It was great that Jeremy took care of the boys so I could get about three hours of sleep and get ready for the day...
The boys loved all that they got this year.... Of course we don't just go crazy buying presents because I don't ever want the boys to think that its all about presents.... I also feel like if they don't get a lot now they won't expect it later...
Around 12:30pm, family started to show up and by 2pm we were ready for eat some yummy food ..... Well my husband out did himself with his brisket it was so so yummy and everyone brought great side items... It was great to be able to have family at our house for Christmas... Thats really what Christmas is about Jesus first and foremost and family....
